B3yond Yoga is lovely yoga studio. It is extremely well organized and clean. The studio is on the large side and I have never felt cramped, even when the class was completely full. The temperature of the room is tolerable and climate controlled. Extremely clean as well. Every single instructor I have had at this location is professional and knowledgeable. I very much appreciate the healing and kindness I have gotten here, and so will you!

I am new to Bikram yoga just having completed three weeks of classes. After my first 10 classes I have already felt many benefits. I am an avid golfer, practice or play 4 to 5 days a week. I have suffered from back pain as a result and typically take several ibuprofens prior to playing, especially in the morning. I am now playing pain free without any pills thanks to Bikram yoga practice. An additional benefit I’ve noticed is that my mind seems clearer with better focus and concentration.

I began my Bikram yoga journey at a time of personal crisis. Menopause was reeking havoc in every aspect of my life through chronic insomnia, hot flashes, metabolic changes (and the resulting weight gain) and anxiety attacks which I had never before experienced. The worst part was that I felt helpless to stop any of it. But this practice did stop it and completely turned things around for me. Within a few months of regular practice most of those symptoms were greatly reduced or gone completely. That was 2 years ago and I honestly don’t know where I would be now without this amazing practice. Although the first few classes were difficult for me I couldn’t deny that the afterglow (the sensation that I have after every class) was like nothing I had ever experienced from any other form of exercise, including other forms of yoga. This practice has made me acutely aware of my body and how it is affected by diet, hydration, medications, etc… And although the physical body is important, it is the mind/body connection that has been the most valuable gift of all. I expected a stronger physical body but I’ve gotten a stronger mind as an amazing bonus! I know that I now have the most powerful tool for managing the stress in my life. I am so grateful to Bikram and to all of the wonderful teachers that continue to instruct and guide me on my road to a healthy lifestyle and self-improvement.

I began yoga in 2007, but after a knee injury, decided (most foolishly) to stop coming until it got better. After a year of it *not* getting better, I decided, in 2009, to come back to yoga and be very careful. Some improvement began. Alas, the improvement was good, but not enough – at first. Let me explain. I have a condition known as psoriatic arthritis. This condition can weaken the joints and leave them terribly swollen. For three years, I took pharmaceutical drugs, specifically methotrexate, to control it. But after these years, I found that the methotrexate was causing dizzy spells and various body aches. Upon my return to Bikram Yoga Kearny Mesa in October of 2009, I began coming 3 or 4 days per week. But I was still taking methotrexate and drinking coffee – a known aggravator of psoriatic arthritis. While I felt better in some ways, I was not making the progress that I needed. And so… By January of 2010, I had made up my mind: I quit coffee. I quit all pharmaceuticals. I began coming to Bikram Yoga 6 days per week or more. This is when it started to improve for me. It’s wonderful. Now, in June, 2010, I take no medications, yet my symptoms are far less than they were one year ago. For me, daily (6 days per week) Bikram Yoga is the answer. My swelling is less. My fitness is so much more! I have lost weight. I sleep better. What can I say? It’s what everyone should do!

Thank you so much for letting me share what Bikram Yoga has done for me. I’ve been practicing for 6 months now and Bikram has unquestionably improved aspects in every single area of my life. The most noticeable improvement has been with my mental focus and clarity. I have a peaceful inner stillness about me like never before. I’m able to stay calm and non-reactive no matter how crazy, stressful, or loud life’s external stimulus gets. I’ve experienced how life can just “flow” the moment you stop giving ego-driven negative reactions to situations. Through Bikram I’ve learned “it is what it is”. There will always be hectic times throughout life, but now I choose to deal with them in a non-combative stress-free manner.
Bikram Yoga has also had a profound effect on my relationships. I feel that my interpersonal communication skills have been sharpened, thus making me more sensitive and intuitive to the needs of the people in my life. Ultimately all my relationships have a deeper meaning now. Oh yeah, I’ve found the love of my life too. It is real and amazing and I couldn’t be happier. For the first time ever I’m experiencing pure, unbridled true love.
Thanks to the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises I’m in better shape and more flexible now at 36 than I was at 18. I’ve played sports my whole life and I’ve sprained both ankles, dislocated both shoulders, dislocated a thumb, and had a bad tennis elbow. Now my shoulders are healthier than ever, no problems with my thumb, the tennis elbow is remarkably better, and the scar tissue in my ankles is slowly dissolving! Bikram Yoga is challenging, but an instructor once told me: “It’s the pain that takes away the pain”, and she was right!
I have finally found what I’ve been looking for…myself. And my journey has just begun.

When i met Bikram Yoga, I was in a bad shape. I had high blood pressure, eczema, a backache when sleeping, insomnia because of that, really slow metabolism, constipation, crankiness and whole a lot of stress. I liked Bikram Yoga because it made all these things fade and eventually go away. It helped me to focus on myself but nothing else. It helped me to concentrate on what my body needed instead of sweets, on commercials and food channels. I feel much healthier now than 3 years ago when I started bikram yoga. And more than anything else, I would like to thank Toni, the director of the KM studio and her staff for all their support so that I kept coming back to the studio no matter what. Bikram Yoga Kearny Mesa is my home.

My son invited me to join him at Bikram’s Yoga. At 61, with ankles sore, lower back pained, sharp sciatic sensation on the right side, screaming rotator cuff stiffness in the right arm, high blood pressure and too much weight, I said, “What the hell, I’ll try it.” March 8 is the day that changed my life, my first day at Bikram’s Yoga College of India, Kearny Mesa. You and your staff were terrific – so incredibly positive, encouraging, supportive and generous to me, even when the only thing I could do in most postures was make an honest effort. After 67 days straight, I went to see my doctor. He couldn’t believe my report: ankles strong, back pains gone, sciatic gone, rotator cuff free of pain, blood pressure down, weight down, medication down, and attitude up! A transformation for an old guy who now has done 90 minutes of Bikram’s Yoga everyday for 110 days in row. Thank you for getting me started. Tell all the seniors who come by that you know a man in his sixties who wasn’t happy about getting old before this yoga who now says “bring it on!” 90 minutes a day, 90 years of life. I love it.

I delivered my new baby boy! He weighed a wopping 10 lbs 12 oz and has already gained a pound and an inch a week later. Thanks to Bikram Yoga, I had tremendous stamina during my labor – especially the 2 1/2 hours of pushing. I used in through the nose/out through the nose breathing and fully recovered between contractions. The thing that stood out the most about my son’s birth was that my 1st son was 9 1/2 lbs and he broke both collar bones coming out. This little guy was 10 lbs 12 oz and was perfectly healthy. Part of me wonders if somehow the yoga made him more flexible 🙂 – I’m sure it made my hips much more flexible. I have also heard that Bikram babies are very calm…well, this kid is an angel. He never cries, except when he gets hungry and then he is easily satisfied. When he is awake, he is alert and peaceful. vardenafil. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful newborn. Bikram’s yoga prevented me from having neck and upper back pain with this pregnancy (and I suffered with it terribly with my first pregnancy) and helped alleviate and finally remedy my pregnancy induced sciatic pain. I truly believe my pregnancy and labor would not have been as easy without Bikram Yoga.

I just wanted to share with you the results of my bloodwork. My doc is lowering my thyroid meds which is great news, but the truly amazing thing is that my cholesterol is down 57 points from just 6 months ago: from 236 to 179. Since my early 20s when I first started keeping track of my levels it has NEVER been under 215 (and that was when I ran 3-5 miles a day and weighed about 15 pounds less than I do now). My triglyceride levels are now normal which is also a first! I am absolutely amazed!!!
Over the last 30 years I have tried running, weight training, swimming, bicycling and walking. For the last 5 years I have practiced other forms of Yoga besides Bikram Yoga, all of which have had virtually no change in any of my blood chemistry levels. Bikram Yoga is the ONLY thing that has made a difference. And of course I feel sooo good!
